Wight Sky Media - Content License Agreement
All stock footage and media assets purchased directly from wightskymedia.com are delivered under a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free license. This means you pay a single one-time fee to use the footage forever in your productions, without ever paying ongoing royalties. The specific usage rights of your download depend on whether the clip is designated as **Commercial** or **Editorial Only** at the time of purchase.
1. Commercial Use License
If an asset is labeled for Commercial use, it has been cleared of prominent third-party intellectual property and identifiable faces, or contains necessary releases.
Permitted Uses:
- Advertising & Marketing: Commercials, social media ads, promotional campaigns, and brand videos.
- Corporate & Business: Internal presentations, B2B marketing, trade show displays, and company websites.
- Entertainment & Media: Monetized YouTube channels, feature films, independent movies, television broadcasts, and streaming platforms.
- Digital Content: Website designs, blogs, and apps.
Prohibited Uses:
- You may not resell, sub-license, or redistribute the raw, standalone video files.
- You may not use the footage in any logo, trademark, or service mark.
- You may not use the content in connection with defamatory, illegal, or sensitive subjects (e.g., political ads, pharmaceutical warnings) without explicit prior written consent from Wight Sky Media.
2. Editorial Only License
If an asset is labeled “Editorial Only” (such as clips featuring visible vessel sail numbers, trademarked sporting regattas like the Fastnet Race, or unreleased public crowds), it is strictly limited to descriptive, educational, or informative contexts.
Permitted Uses:
- News & Journalism: News broadcasts, online articles, newspapers, and magazines.
- Documentary & Education: Documentaries, educational videos, academic presentations, and non-commercial textbooks.
- Public Interest: Informational blog posts or social media commentary discussing the specific subject matter depicted in the video.
Prohibited Uses:
- NO Commercial Use:You cannot use this footage to sell, promote, market, or advertise a business, product, service, or commercial entity.
- You cannot use this footage in paid advertisements or sponsored social media content.
You may not resell or redistribute the standalone files.
3. General Terms & Seat Restrictions
- Single-Seat License: Each purchase grants a license to one individual user (editor/creator) to access and edit the raw file. If your organization requires multi-user network access to the raw files, please contact us directly for a multi-seat extension.
- No Derivative Resale: You must incorporate our footage into a wider creative production. You cannot package our video files as your own stock assets, templates, or wallpaper loops.
